Feb 2, 2016 · It Would Be Un-Minnesotan (and Un-Mayo) Not to Join This Cause

While my school years in rural central Minnesota did not expose me to much cultural diversity, I did learn all about community inclusion and MN nice. Than I came to work at Mayo Clinic and have found incredible friendships with individuals from many cultures. My life is definitely enriched by my Muslim friends and co-workers. So glad to see Minnesota and Mayo Clinic posting this ad. Makes me proud to be Minnesotan and Mayoan (?sp) 🙂 🙂

I am Thankful: Mayo has provided me the opportunity to meet wonderful individuals from around the world. Co-workers who have shared their culture, beliefs, food,family and companionship. I feel so blessed to be able to welcome these new members of my growing family. Connections that will last the rest of my life. It gives me hope that global PEACE is possible through individual connections.

Thanks so much for this. The topic is so relevant to providing Patient-Centered care. Mayo has excellent resources around hospice, Palliative care, pain management, and end of life care… but our care providers do not always know about them or remember to access them. Great JOB providing this information!
