Brand New Brand Madness – Minnesota-style
The good folks at the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal are back with another Brand Madness competition. The event lets fans of “Minnesota’s iconic business and product names” show support for their favorite brands in a single-elimination tournament based on popular vote.
This year, Mayo Clinic and Red Wing Shoes have (ahem) stomped the competition and are now facing one another in the final round -- the last survivors of the original 64-brand field.
Cast your vote by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 30.
You may recall that back in 2011, Mayo was edged out in the Brand Madness thanks to a "spirited" showing by fans of Creative Memories. (We’re trying to forget.) Although the scrap bookers took us to the matte back then, we’re predicting that things will unfold differently this time around.
You can help Mayo get the nod as Minnesota’s top brand by placing your vote here. You wouldn't want Red Wing Shoes to walk all over us, would you? (Sorry, we just can't help ourselves with the punnery.)

To get to the finals, Mayo Clinic beat out the Mall of America and 3M's Post-it Notes, as well as Land O'Lakes, Crave and Punch Pizza. (Must be our great cafeteria food.) Red Wing Shoes gave the boot to Kowalski's, General Mills' Pillsbury, U.S. Bank and Target during its finals run. You can find the entire field of 64 here. According to the official voting rules, you must be at least 13 to vote, and you can vote once per person/per IP address. (Trust us, we tested that system. Before reading the rules, of course.)
