Jesse Jones is not one to take things for granted.

Jones, who has been an associate in Supply Logistics at Mayo Clinic in Florida for two and a half years, has already received more than 40 shout-outs on the Above and Beyond Recognition Wall. But he still manages to stay grounded and focused on serving Mayo's staff and patients.

"What inspires and motivates me the most is being able to serve the patients and being there for them and the doctors and nurses when they need something from Supply Logistics," Jones says. "I take my job very seriously because I know we must be there for people."

Jones's job is to make sure patient care areas have the supplies they need in a timely manner — something that staff in the Emergency Department have come to appreciate greatly.

"Jesse is an outstanding worker. He will not stop until the unit or person is satisfied," a colleague in the Emergency Department says on the Above and Beyond Recognition Wall. "Anything you need, we call on him because we know he can find it and make it happen. Jesse is patient and understanding when it comes to the importance and severity in the ER. Thanks, Jesse, for going above and beyond."

Gloria Salmon, a health unit coordinator for the 4N Intensive Care Unit, has been so appreciative of Jones's work that she's given him three shout-outs on the Recognition Wall.

"Jesse Jones is always polite, understanding and caring," Salmon says. "He always goes the extra mile to help us get the supplies we need for our patients. What makes the experience with Mr. Jones stand out is his understanding and his humbleness to help us get the supplies needed in a timely manner to save lives. Jesse has a positive attitude and a great smile. He puts the interests of the patients above everything else. Jesse is dedicated, consistent, accountable and dependable, and he has integrity in his job. He's a great aspect of Mayo Clinic."

Jones came to Mayo Clinic because his brother-in-law, David Henry, who is a lead in Supply Chain Management, told him Mayo was a great place to work.

Coming to Mayo is a decision Jones says he is happy he made. As are his colleagues.

"I take it an honor and privilege to have received this many awards from different people talking about how they appreciate my work and the things that I do for not only them but for patients' needs, and I don't take it for granted either," Jones says. "I just love serving and doing things for people and making them happy, and it brings joy to my heart when I've done a good deed for the day."
